GirlFest 2014

“Join us November 15 at the Portland Expo Center (2060 N Marine Drive, Portland, Oregon 97217) for our biggest Girl Scout celebration of the year – GirlFest! Discover hundreds of amazing activities – learn to ride a skateboard, “drive” a submarine, control a robot and more. Finish your day with a rockin’ concert from “American Idol” finalist, “Glee” guest star and international recording artist Jessica Sanchez! Have fun with your friends and experience everything cool about being a girl. Everyone is invited to share in the fun (boys, too!) and you don’t have to be a Girl Scout to attend. We can’t wait for you to join us!”
Pixel Arts will be hosting two camp sessions and a booth at the Fest for make-your-own trading cards, computer programming, storytelling, and more!
Digital Storymaking with Twine Games Session – 10:30am-12:30pm
Scribble, draw, and write your imagination into an online adventure! Our workshop will help you and your friends create an interactive game together with Twine, a kind of “choose-your-own-adventure” software. The tools are simple and fun. Appropriate for Grades 5-8.
Creative Play with Games and Scratch Session – 12:30pm-2:30pm
Making creative, fun games to play on computers is easy with Scratch. Our workshop will help you and your friends make games from your imagination. Learn how simple and fun coding is, make your own art and characters, and see what your game can do! Appropriate for grades 5-9.
